i’m still alive! i haven’t blogged in a while because… life, haha! pero eto na nga, working on the back logs from err… february! it had been my first time to visit elyu and i remember that it was a spur of the moment trip because i was actually going to on a hike tour but it was cancelled so…
i’ve always wanted to see the circle hostel… i’ve read about it online and the place seemed really hip and i’m not too picky plus they’d let you stay for less than most of the hotels in the area. it wasn’t so hard to find too, they’d slap you with signs and all that shizznitz by the bus stop in elyu.
the place was very colorful and artsy as expected. there are lots of murals and err… hugot quotes, haha.
even the floors and have some sort of art on them.
on a side note, i also found a garapata sticker!
and they have swings too! so eun, the circle hostel in elyu is pretty chill and there are lots of backpackers who are all very friendly. i hope to visit again sometime soon!

artfair 2017
Posted August 1, 2017
on:super late post is super late? haha. i have been wanting to go to the art fair philippines years back, but i always missed it for some reason… this year, i’d actually gotten a planner and jotted down the dates of the fair and wazed my way into the link carpark, where the event is held yearly.
we have different reasons why we look at art, for some people they like studying the paintings and talking about their meanings, some like certain subjects, but for me, i just like the colors and the patterns.
before we go to the art stuff, the event had an area where they sell art materials, lots of paint and pencils and brushes, papers, books, and even pizza shaped erasers, haha. would have bought some though, kaso, i will probably be accused of hoarding stationery again.
anyhoo, the main reason why i really wanted to go to this year’s fair was because the artist doing the garapata art, you see his stickers everywhere, was also displaying his art this year, and i had taken a liking to the little critter, we have the same set of under-eye bags as you can see, lols. and then…
there were lots and lots more of paintings, installations, and other artwork, the ones above are my favorite. some of these things are really expensive, i saw some paintings costing millions. so eun, i stayed for some time looking at the art and went to leave when my feet were already dying. looking to go next year again!

a few months back, my friend from work, tammy, invited me to join their team building… and since i am kaladkarin and also because tammy is so soft, fluffy and cute and reminds me of a marshmallow, i agreed on the spot. and so i went to laiya, batangas and we lounged our butts in a place called…
punto miguel… it wasn’t exactly a luxurious resort but it was the homey kind, with huts and sand littered with shells and hand painted murals although some had faded already… also there were chickens roaming about, there was a particularly fat one and that would have made an excellent adobo, lols.
there were lots of people selling stuff around the beach and i bought a few, it’s kind of sad though because once you buy something, sellers would come to you and well… i can’t afford to buy from each…
and then there’s the beach which is filled with little boats and lots of life… there were a bunch of starfish moving around every meter or so… and then God kind of made a little masterpiece on the mountains, you know… those were really beautiful most especially during sunrise.
so eun, this trip was brief but it was really fun, they got me drunk for the love of… haha. on a side note i did enjoy pinching tammy so much, that cutie. i hope i could come back soon.

final post on pinto art museum, pramis! so you can’t really clearly define what constitutes as art… what with people having different perceptions and tastes but here are the ones that i definitely liked…
i wonder how much those paintings and installations cost? i kind of really liked the ones in the ‘erotic’ section, women’s bodies are definitely art in my book… anyhoo, we roamed around the museum for about three to four hours… and we haven’t covered everything! hope i could come back soon. on a side note, i pretended to be an art overlord, that is, when my friend wasn’t looking, teehee.

there’s so much art to see at the pinto art museum, but there are other things to ogle as well…
there are little ponds and water installations that you can stare into… these are somewhat calming.
they have beds and sofas everywhere and you can lounge when you get tired, it is a huge place after all. the beds are really pretty too, kind of like princess-y.
and all the lovely plant life! i enjoyed looking at the plants, the potted ones, the climbing vines, all the flowers… and i enjoyed trying to identify the trees and shrubs… partly because i have some penchant for gardening (also i am somewhat weird, lol.)

graize and i hadn’t eaten at all before going to pinto art museum… and we decided to eat first before exploring the museum… and so we ordered food from cafe pinto, the cafe near the entrance…
it’s a lovely place, kind of like an old dining room from those big stone houses in the countryside… with wooden tables and chairs and candles and flowers, there are paintings too that you can already gape at.
it took a while for the food to be served to us, and well… we’d already taken a bunch of pichurs.
their raspberry iced tea was very nice, but we were somewhat disappointed with the portions of the napa valley salad we had bought, we got one each but i could have easily finished both our salads in a few minutes, lels. on a side note, if you’re going for the first time, please eat something heavier because the place is huge and there’s going to be a lot of walking…
we went on to the galleries after eating.

went to the pinto art museum a few months ago with graize and browsing through the pixxors, i’d noticed i have taken too many shoefies because i kind of liked the floor patterns and textures of whatever surface i’m standing on in the museum… ako lang ba gumagawa nito? haha. (on a side note, kind ma’am/sir from vans, i’m a size 3.5, teehee!)

mount maynuba
Posted April 14, 2017
on:
taking on mt. maynuba in rizal was my first adventure this year… it was a minor climb according to some blogs but i came with very healthy people who took on mountains almost regularly… the last time i hiked was july of last year in antique and i had been stuffing my face with pork buns since then, lols. so i’d been clinging on to graize and the tour guide until we reached the summit.
i survived though and well, the views up top were very nice.
some of my favorite people, they had planned the whole trip like pros that we’d joke around that we could start up a tour agency… we have little smiley pins just for the trip, man, smiley pins.
on the other hand, i received a pair of merrell shoes before this trip, huzzah! it was very comfortable but got soaked when i slipped into a stream.
we also dropped by some waterfalls but decided to forego the small ones in favor of the bigger ones where people could swim.
our little tour guides (the guides’ kids actually) helped us clean up in their homes as we got down from mount maynuba, they were very cute… i shouldn’t have given them my leftover candy, haha. so eun, we went home after some lamon fest… i had a lot of fun, wish we’d do something like this again soon.

super late post… because again, life… so i went the annual giant lantern festival in san fernando, pampanga last… err… last december (sorry na). went on a weekday and not on the main event day because all you’ll ever see on that day are selfie sticks and people’s heads. was able to get really close to the lanterns and here are my favorite pixxors…
particularly liked sto. nino’s lantern though, it looked like a giant flower wreath most of the time but
it had a majestic finale.
dolores keeps winning yearly but i will always have a penchant for telabastagan, hihi. this baranggay won when i attended my first festival… they’re still awesome. so eun, it was fun watching the lights, hoping to see the lanterns again next time.

late post is late. haven’t blogged in a while because… life, haha. and so, we went to the up lantern parade some, ahem, three months ago. it was as always, really fun but there were so many people that night it was somewhat difficult to get good photos.
the building lights and the floats were very nice though, they had this ‘film’ theme going on too. on a side note, there was one point when, in an attempt to catch up with the floats, we tried crossing the whole of the sunken garden… which was very unwise, haha, but… at least to me, it was a funny moment (hey, i was wearing a dress and skate shoes with the waffles sticking to the wet ground). we stopped trying to cross after a few meters.
we ended the night eating at the chocolate kiss cafe, i hadn’t eaten there in a long time, they still make all the old cakes (like dayap and devil’s food) and the acid orange tea. on a side note, if you’re going to have the bahay ng alumni as your meet-up place (which i did), better inform your unfamiliar friends that it is a building inside of up diliman… in my case everyone was asking “who” the alumni was… “bahay ng alumni? sinong alumni?”, nyahaha.
