panagbenga 2014 part two: grand street parade

Posted on: March 4, 2014

after leaving our stuff at the hotel, our tour group trudged to session road for the grand street parade. the street signs in baguio are way nicer than the dilapidated ones in metro manila.

and super clean too, my chucks are pleased.

found these group of kids who claimed one of the better spots in session road. it does help to be really early because people start to pour in hordes an hour before the parade, they also close some streets by that time.

there are a lot of merchants roaming about before the parade. they sell various things from strawberry taho to buttered corn, i bought some gummy worms though. they were the coldest gummy worms i have ever had in my life. hahaha! i made new friends with some of the solo travellers, pretty shane is the one on the left, i got scared of her at first because she’s not afraid to speak her mind. mai is on the right, we have the same name, how ozummm is that!

there are other stuff being sold, i liked these laced hats but they were too expensive for hats. i took a ninja pixxor instead while talking to the seller. hehe!

now, if you get bored with all that panagbenga merchandise, there’s always nature to look at. session road is full of plant life, even the gutters and sidewalks have well trimmed grass and wild flowers.

and then after so much waiting, and gaping at things, lol, the parade finally started. here are my favorites…

this is one of the most energetic and colorful parades i’ve seen! all the little flower details worn by the dancers were creative, so much sunflowers!  i like the last two pixxors the most, when the dancers were in mid-jump and well, yeah, they have cute butts (they’re minors!).

yun lang muna.
